I Love Sundays!!!

I really love Sunday! It's so nice to be at church and re-connect with all your good friends there. Friends that you have so much in common with.

Last night at Lawry's turned out to be a nice evening for everyone. Of course, I had to put up with some of the "grossness" of certain comments, but all in all, she was very tame. We were able to meet Mark D's girlfriend (of sorts) and she was very nice. We got home at 12:15am and it was soooooo hard to get up and get ready for church.

Our ward choir practices on a reg. basis and we sing in Sac meeting about every other month. It's a great way to get to know more people in the ward. We sang today and it sounded great. There was only about 12 of us, but we all worked hard and did our best.

Jim has been working on going through all of our business/home paperwork and weeding out the old stuff, shredding, and re-organizing the filing. He is amazing at this. I told him that he has a special talent in this area. He reminded me of his other talent in being a real good pack rat!!! hahaha If he wasn't a pack rat, he wouldn't have to be weeding the stuff out. Oh well, regardless of all that, he is very talented in getting these kinds of jobs done.

I don't know if all of you have heard about me auditioning for Harborlites. I will become an official member again this week. I'm filling out the Sweet Adelines Int'l. membership forms and then the board votes on it. I don't think I'll have a problem. haha

I hope everyone has a great week ahead of them. Just remember, Women's Conf. is just around the corner!

Stake singing practice

This morning I had the great pleasure to meet with our stake choir and practice the songs we'll be singing at our "temple day" on May 19th. What an experience that will be. We're singing a "Marvelous Work and a Wonder", "This is the Christ", and one more that I've forgotten the name to. I'm singing alto and I love it!!! I should have switched years ago! Mom, you should definitely sing alto this year for the Christmas show. You'll love it. We get to sing all the interesting moving harmony parts that are so fun and then to kind of be the background to the melody. I just love it!

Tonight we're meeting with my brother-in-law Mark and his female friend along with Mark & Renee Silverman up at Lawrys for dinner. Should be a real hoot!! (as always).

I've been asked to speak in Sacrament Mtg on April 29th on "Count your Blessings". They don't waste any time getting the new people up there. hahaha We're going to Vegas for a convention that Jim needs to attend for work. He'll be in meetings during the day and I'll be working on my talk. I'm hoping to go to the temple a few times too. I'm really looking forward to getting away for a few days. Thanks Mom (in advance) for coming to stay with the pups. Grammy will be so happy too!

Have a great weekend everyone!! Love you all!

We need your prayers...

I'm asking for all of you to pray for Mr. Peanut. He has a small tumor on his stomach (down near his groin) that used to be a small red birthmark. I noticed it about a month ago and mistook it for something else. I took him to the vet this morning and the doctor said it was definitely a tumor of some kind. They took his blood and will have the results back tomorrow, then we'll schedule him for surgery. Mr. Peanut also has an ear infection. I don't think it's helping that he's back in a humid climate. We need to be more vigilant on keeping up on the ear washing/rinse.

It's been such a long day. I spent 4 hours on the risers last night at Harborlites and my body just hasn't adjusted to it yet. It's hard to stand in one place that long.

Jim took me to lunch at Costco and then to one of his properties in Cerritos, then to my old office to pick up my check. While I was there, the girls told me about a major outburst that happened yesterday. The operator who hates answering phones had another lady reach over her for something on the desk and she came unglued! Yelling out expletives in front of a few patients and then storming out yelling that she quit!!! Unbelievable. As it turns out, one of the Dr's nurses quit for good on my last day (last Friday). This place is really something!!!! The drama just keeps coming.

I'm really worried about the Peanut and I hope it's something that hasn't spread or is terribly serious. Jim and I think he's drinking more water lately. He still likes to eat a lot. Thanks for all your love and support.

The sun is shining again!!!!

Well, Friday finally came and the end was in sight. Work that is. I am sooooooo happy that experience is over. My body was really starting to let down Friday night, but I knew I had to get up early and be at an "all-day" choreography rehearsal for Harborlites on Saturday. I also was going to do the final audition to get back into the chorus. Saturday turned out to be a long and tiring day on the risers learning choreography to our song "Angel of Music" from Phantom of the Opera. It is going to be a real hit. So, from 9am to 4:30 minus a 1 1/2hr break for lunch, we were bustin it. Then, after all that I auditioned with 3 other singers (section leaders) in a quartet forum to finish. I MADE IT!!!! It's so nice to have that over with and I'll be able to get all the music on Monday night to start practicing it. You all know how I hate to be the one that DOESN'T know the music or is behind. I will bust it to get all the songs learned really fast.

Pam Pieson, our director, told the chorus that they should all take off their 2004 Int'l medals (everyone wears around their necks) and shoot for winning the next one in October. It will be a good way for everyone to not think they've already won it and might not try as hard. And, it will help the new people (me) to not feel like they're not a part of the group. I'm excited about all of it.

After getting back home on Sat. about 5:30 I ate dinner and then got in bed around 7:30 and was out like a light! I didn't even stir until 4:30am, at which time I felt wide awake and ready to get up. I watched tv until 6am and then set the alarm for 7:30 to get ready for church. Jim told me this morning that he even went out to the store to get icecream and I didn't wake up. I couldn't believe he didn't wake me up for ICECREAM!!!

If any of you have any ideas about what my new calling is about, please let me know. I've been called as the Public Affairs Chairperson for our ward. I meet with the stake once a month and then report to the ward at the leadership meeting. The only activity I know about now is our stake is having Mormon night at Dodger Stadium July 19th. Should be a fun time.

It's great not dreading Monday on Sunday night!!!!! Yeah!!!

TWO DAYS LEFT!!!!!

I am getting so pumped up knowing that I only have 2 more days of this dead-end horrific job. I hate that place. One of the nice ladies there, that has been a friend to me, asked if I could just stay one more week. I quickly told her there was no way I could physically do it! I've just had it with everything!

One of the Dr.'s today was getting so angry about something I didn't have anything to do with, I thought he was going to "blow his stack". He had a similar look on his face when Dad gets really mad, but it was much more sinister. I just looked away and shook my head. Just before this when the complaining began about how a chart couldn't be found, I said flippantly that I hadn't been eating the charts. I'm not responsible for these charts. My gosh, don't be complaining and blowing your stack at me. I didn't say all that, but that's what I was thinking. Then I realized if he had just one more outburst that I was directly or indirectly on the receiving end of, that would be the last!!!!! 2 more days my foot, I'm out-a-here tonight!!!!! hahaha

Of course I'm having fun with this because I can. Did I mention I only have 2 more days!!!! The only working experience even close to this place was working at the Hilton in Waikoloa with that Asst. Dir of Sales. What an ego that guy had.

I went to the Dr's today at Kaiser (what a nice facility over here in LB) and he asked me where I worked, so I told him and that I only had 2 more days there. He knew the office first hand - his Dad is a patient of the dr I work for. He said it sometimes takes 2 months to get tests back from our office. We really laughed and had a great chat about that place. What a reputation this office has. Nuts!!!!

Jim is starting to kick some major butt down at his office this week. He's having to clean up some messes that someone else had made, which upsets him, but he does such a great job at it.

I hope the weather is decent here in Seal Beach next week because I'm hitting the sand folks!!! I can't wait!! Can you tell I'm just a tad excited?????

I'M BACK KIDS!!!

Hey everyone! I know it's been forever since I put in a message, but it's been nuts around my world right now.

I gave notice at work last Thurs (4/5) and this Friday will be my last day!!!!!!!!! Yeah!! I can't tell you how slow this week is going to go because of this. I'm also on the fast track for auditioning back into Harborlites! Remember me talking about wanting to be on the risers for Sweet Adelines Intl comp. in Calgary this October???? Well, I'm hoping to make it happen.

Tonight I'm getting my butt back into the gym so I can get these last pounds off! After seeing Marilyn so thin and I know Steph is the same, I can't help think to myself, "Well Barbie, you had a good run". hahahaha Nonsense people!! I'm not going to be too old or lazy to not stay in the race. Kickboxing, here I come!!!!

Women's Conf. is less than a month away!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY APRIL & WELCOME BACK!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY APRIL! I'm so glad you and your family were able to go to DisneyWorld on vacation! What a blast that must have been for everyone. There is so much to do.

Stephanie's tribute to you was so nice and it got me remembering back to those good ol days in front of D'Elias Grinder drive-in, listening to you make up stories for the people ordering. The times we would put the 'Mute' on the tv and hear the sagas of the people we'd be watching with your new stories. Do you remember talking for Dad when he was on the phone with one of the Turner's or Fireball? That's going way back, huh?!

The great trips to Utah keeping track of every Bishop Jack and Sista Fullah we could spot!!!! PROVO OR BUST! Didn't you make a poster for the van that said that. All the times we stayed at the "Thunderbird" in St. George or the Best Western Columbia in Provo.

You are a great entertainer and have given me so many fun memories and laughter. I love thinking about those times. The "Concert Night" at Womens Conf. will always be the all-time best of for all of us!!!! Glad you're back home safe and sound!

It's the Marriot Center or Bust!!!! We're getting closer to Women's Conf. ladies and I'm getting sooooooo excited.

Jim and I had a nice stroll on the sand this afternoon and watched the kite surfers. How relaxing and great that felt!
